Casa João de Barro by Terra e Tuma Arquitetos Associados

Designed to be part of the landscape, Casa João de Barro is a single-family house in Itatiba, Brazil. The clients asked the Brazilian Firm Terra e Tuma to design a house that accommodates the natural setting to be able to enjoy their free time with their children and host their friends and family. By taking advantage of the privileged view of the mountains and the site’s slope, the architects were able to build in a light and intelligent manner.

The bedrooms were strategically positioned to receive the morning sunlight, while the living room and kitchen provide a view to the outside. The courtyard has a direct connection to the social sectors of the house, expanding the living areas. The pool adapts according to the seasons, becoming a small beach that overflows on hot days or a mirror extending the patio in winter.
